Another unlikely reason for losing your hair that you might not have realised is losing your hair through the menopause. Of course, this one only applies to women and you might not have known that the menopause can often cause hair thinning and hair loss. Scientists are relatively unsure as to why this is the way but it has been proven that general hair loss and hair thinning is common with many women going through the menopause. It is thought that it could be down to the many hormonal changes in your body during this time.
Another unlikely reason for hair loss is being ill. Although you might not have ever thought that being ill will cause hair loss, there have been studies that have found that it will. In many cases, illnesses such as a huge fever have been found to cause some hair loss as it disrupts the bodies hair cycle. Of course, this is a relatively low for of hair loss and the good news is that once the fever or illness has cleared up, your hair cycle will return itself to normal and you won’t notice any more hair loss.
