The Comb Over – Don’t Do It!
The most common hair style for balding men is that of the “comb over”. This is the slicked side-to-side hair that runs from just above one ear to the other side over the bald part of the head. The “comb over” has been very popular with many men who will grow the hair at the sides and back longer than normal to enable them to use this to cover the balding patch on the top of the head.
Unfortunately, as time goes by and the balding process continues to progress there is less and less hair to be able to do this. It has often been a mystery as to how men reach the stage of a “comb over” as being a solution to their hair loss problem. It is obvious that this type of style can take many years to evolve as the man attempts to preserve his old hair style by making use of ever diminishing amounts of hair.
A “comb over” can work for a lot of men until the hair loss becomes so bad and the bald area too large, that it fails to do its job. This is often a very slow process which the man fails to notice. It is often up to friends and family to be strong enough to be able to tell the man that his hair style looks ridiculous, and that by telling them so will help to avoid the strange stares from strangers on the street.
When they finally realise the truth they will see that there are alternatives to the “comb over” and this knowledge may well point them in the right direction when it comes to deciding on the best possible course of action to take in resolving their hair loss problem.
