Itchy Scalp Treatments
Is your scalp itchy, burning or dry, with flakes and
dandruff? Or, does it just not feel right to you? Whatever is wrong
with your scalp, you will be happy to hear that even the most itchy
scalp can be soothed with natural remedies that can be made in the
comfort of your own home in just a few minutes.
As is the case with any medical condition, you should first talk
to your doctor or your dermatologist if your scalp problem is severe.
This is especially true for pregnant women, as most medications
can be passed to the unborn baby. Now, on to some of the best remedies
for an itchy scalp:
• Fenugreek and its seeds are a great itchy scalp treatment. All
you have to do is take 2 tbsp. of fenugreek seeds, soaking them
in water overnight. Grind the softened seeds into a paste, then
apply it to your scalp and leave it for a half hour. Rinse thoroughly,
and if you wish, you can add a teaspoon of lime juice to the rinse
water.
• Apple cider vinegar is a tried-and-true folk remedy that has been
used for years, and it will help restore your scalp’s natural pH
balance. It will also kill pore-clogging bacteria, allowing oil
to be naturally released to the scalp. Clogged pores are the reason
why crust and flaking of the scalp can result. Make a mixture of
equal parts apple cider vinegar and water, and saturate the hair
with it- no need to rinse it out. In a pinch, lemon juice can be
used.
• Rosemary is a great itchy scalp treatment. You can rub rosemary
oil or a blend of rosemary leaves and olive oil on to your scalp,
leaving it on for fifteen minutes. If your scalp is sore, chamomile
is a great treatmetn as well.
Be sure to do a patch test before you use an oil on your scalp,
to avoid a potential allergic reaction.
